Broadband Internet Task Force meeting:

The first 2017 Broadband Internet Task Force meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16^th at 8:30 a.m. at the offices of Willcox & Savage, P.C., 222 Central Park Avenue, Suite 1500, conference room B, Virginia Beach, Virginia 23462.

This new study task force will focus on Broadband Internet and the implications the Trans-Oceanic Fiber Connection can have on business development in Virginia Beach.  The goal is for the group to also better understand the infrastructure and regulatory/administrative format that is necessary to capitalize on its full economic potential.

Councilman Ben Davenport will speak at the meeting and provide some background as well as a status update. Joel McDonald, VB Public Schools Board member, and Daryl Riddick, City of Virginia Beach, IT Department have also been invited to discuss related issues that the city administration is addressing.
