City Visioning Task Force Meeting

02/23/23 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm

Please mark your calendar for the first meeting of the newly formed City Visioning Task Force, scheduled for Thursday, February 23 at 3:30 p.m. in the offices of Clark Nexsen in Town Center, 4525 Main Street, 14th floor. Over the next few meetings, the task force will be engaging some of our elected officials in discussion of their goals and priorities for the future of the city.  We will begin on February 23rd with Mayor Dyer as our guest.

This new task force combines the workplan of the 2022 Comp. Plan and City Budget task forces.  The members of these task forces have been moved to this new task force to address an expanded work plan as detailed below.

City Visioning Task Force:

As the City Budget and City Comp Plan task forces have evolved over the past few months, their focus has become closely aligned, now seeking to prioritize key city projects and initiatives that are forward focused and that necessitate city funding through the annual budget process.  As a combined task force, their initial focus will be on identifying the city budget elements most critical to the city and region’s future business retention, development, and economic prosperity.  The task force will then support advocacy for related city budget funding.  Focus should include efforts to promote the city’s creation of a long-term strategic vision, citywide transportation technologies and alternatives, and create a “brand identity” for the city.

Please R.S.V.P. via the calendar notice. If you are unsure of your schedule currently but hope to attend, please mark your response as tentative.  We are making efforts to provide accurate attendance numbers to both the speakers and meeting space providers. Thank you in advance for your cooperation!
