Comprehensive Plan Review Task Force Meeting (in person and MS Teams)
06/01/22 @ 3:30 pm - 4:30 pm
The next meeting of the Comp. Plan Review Task Force will be held in person on Wednesday, June 1, 2022, from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the offices of Clark Nexsen at 4525 Main Street, Suite 1400. We would particularly like to have a full house for this meeting. We will have all the top city administration joining us, giving us a unique opportunity for input, discussion, and clarification on key elements of the plan.
Our subject experts at the meeting will be Mark Shea who is managing the city’s Comp. Plan update, Kathy Warren, Deputy Director of Economic Development, Bobby Tajan, Director of Planning, and Comp, Plan support staff, Hank Morrison, and Megan Gribble.
Among the issues of interest and as you will recall, the former Norfolk Southern ROW was a topic of discussion at our last task force meeting. Recently, Council was briefed on the VB Bikeway and Trails Annual Report. A primary element of this report was turning the former NS ROW into an urban trail. Following are links to the most recent information related to the trail for your consideration and review.
- The City’s webpage on the project
- The video with drone photography created last last year to show the Trail’s potential visually
- The narrative section of the 2021 US DoT BUILD grant application
- Our Bikeways and Trails 2021 Annual Report, showing actions taken on the Virginia Beach Trail last year (see pages 14-15)
If your schedule precludes you from joining us in-person, please refer to the Outlook calendar notice or contact VBV staff for the Microsoft Teams link.
