Membership Development Task Force Meeting (In-Person)

We have scheduled our first task force meeting of the New Year for Wednesday, February 2 at 8:30 a.m. With our previous task force chairman, Joash Schulman, moving into the position of Vision Vice President, we are pleased that Eric Keplinger has agreed to step up as the 2022 chairman.  At this first meeting he will lay the foundation for the year ahead.  The task force has been asked to help plan a Vision Board retreat to be held for a half day on March 15.  This will be a key point for discussion at our February 2 meeting.

There will be a Joint VBV / GNC Resiliency Task Force meeting held on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at 8:30 a.m. at Clark Nexsen (conference room 1451),4525 Main Street, Suite 1400, Virginia Beach, VA 23462.  If you are unable to attend in-person but are available to participate via Microsoft Teams, please contact VBV staff for call/log in details. Guest speakers will be Councilman Michael Berlucchi, Kathy Warren, Director, SGA office and Abigail Cabell Johnson, Virginia Pace.  They will provide a briefing on the C-Pace loan program and its application to area businesses.

Andrew Breitenberg and Matt Breitenberg, Straight Path Management, will first share an overview of the discussions had at the VBV Board Retreat that was held on March 15th. Following their report, Mr. Gilbert “Gil” T. Bland, President & CEO, Urban League of Hampton Roads will present on DEI from multiple viewpoints including that of an employer, consumer, workforce perspective and census demographic perspective. He will also speak from quality of community perspective to have inclusion and to equity and the various perspectives of the definition.
