The joint Affordable Housing Task Force and Resilience/Environment Task Force meeting to discuss the rezoning of Signature Meadows Golf Course has been rescheduled to November 20th at 9:00 a.m. The meeting will be held in the Atlantic Room at Williams Mullen, 222 Central Park Avenue, 17th Floor, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. As a reminder, this will be a joint task force meeting where Jonathan Skinner, President of Harrison and Lear, will present development plans for the Signature Meadows Golf Course. These plans are facing opposition from neighbors who wish for the property to remain a golf course. The Planning Commission public hearing will be held in January 2025.

The Resilience/Environment Task Force will meet on December 3rd at 3:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Room at Williams Mullen, 222 Central Park Avenue, 17th Floor, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. HRT will present potential plans for a new Operation Center in Virginia Beach.  The presentation will also include details about the On Demand pilot program currently underway in Virginia Beach and Newport News.

Please mark your calendar for the Virginia Beach Vision Annual Meeting and Holiday Reception! The Annual Meeting will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., during which we will vote on the 2025 Executive Committee members and the 2025 Budget. Your attendance is essential, as a quorum is required for these decisions. At 5:00 p.m., elected officials and regional leaders will join us to celebrate and reflect on the accomplishments of the past year.

The Business Development Task Force will meet on December 5th at 3:30 p.m. in the Atlantic Room at Williams Mullen, 222 Central Park Avenue, 17th Floor, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Glenn Davis, Director of the Virginia Department of Energy, will present Virginia’s approach to fulfilling Governor Youngkin’s All-American, All-of-the-Above Energy Plan. Davis was most recently serving the Commonwealth as a Delegate from Virginia Beach. He was first elected in 2014 and chaired the House’s Education Committee and led the Governor’s Cybersecurity and I.T. Transition team during his service.  Davis was appointed to his current role as agency director in April 2023.
