There will be a meeting of the Education Task Force on Wednesday, May 15 at 9 a.m. in the Virginia Beach Economic Development offices, 4525 Main St, Suite 700. The focus of the meeting will be as follows: Review the conversation from the VB superintendent. Discuss if and how should VBV follow up to offer support. Discussion about what can be done to provide career and technical educational training and where the greatest needs exist. Whom would we like to hear from next?

The Resilience/Environment Task Force & City Visioning Task Force will have a joint meeting on Tuesday, June 11th at 8:30 a.m. in the conference room at Williams Mullen, 222 Central Park Avenue, Suite 1700, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Hank Morrison, Comprehensive Planning Administrator, Planning & Community Development, City of Virginia Beach will be our guest speaker. He will share how sea level rise and resiliency are being addressed in the new Comprehensive Plan.

The Affordable Housing Task Force will meet on Wednesday, June 12th at 9:00 a.m. in the conference room at Williams Mullen, 222 Central Park Avenue, Suite 1700, Virginia Beach, VA 23462. Jake Marshall, Vice President of Acquisitions & Development, The Breeden Company, will be our guest speaker. He will brief us on the needs and barriers of affordable housing.

Following the meeting there will be an informal social networking opportunity from 5:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Please plan to stay after if your schedule allows!
